Here are a few before pictures, this is our creek bed. We are planning a duckponics system which will include two ponds, a duck pond and a koi pond, and a creek that flows between them. We will also have grow beds in various areas that will clean and filter the water before it reenters the system. Our grow beds will grow vegetables, and possibly fodder for our chickens. This is the very beginning, the kids are excited and willing to dig (how long will that last?) :) I am also very excited and am oblivious to all of the difficulties I am sure to encounter. I have been researching like crazy and have found very little about this type of system online. Only two people so far that I've found have done this, both seem to be having success though, and I think it is completely doable. If we can get it up and running, I will have a system with ornamental fish (since none of my family is really excited about eating the fish) ducks from which we will enjoy fresh eggs, fresh vegetables, and hopefully fresh fodder for our other animals, and even duckweed for the ducks. On top of that, we will have a beautiful water feature that brings greenery, peacefulness and hopefully is very low maintenance.
